This design was inspired by a 2001 Austrian postage stamp designed by Otmar Grissemann, a children's book author.

The first frost came overnight.
The fiery leaves of fall at its peak are tinged with an ethereal crystalline blanket.
As the first rays of the morning sun sneak through the branches,
the leaves glow and shimmer as if illuminated from within.

Aspen Stem
The stem of the quaking aspen leaf was the inspiration for this design.
Just as the stem reaches the leaf it is flattened at 90° to the leaf surface,
causing the leaf to quake in the breeze.
