You are dropped ceremoniously at the top of the lift. Your favorite trail in mind, you race madly to arrive first at the edge, and drop in without hesitation. You are flanked by two friends trying to overtake you. It is a powder morning. What friends? |
3:45. Five minutes until the last lift load. The snow began lightly as if it were trying to fall without being noticed, but it increases steadily throughout the day. It is impossible to stop early while those perfect white crystals are still falling. |

Still Falling |
It is the first big winter storm. There is a line of cars making the trek to the mountain, but you came early the night before. The snow has opened up the glades and as you glide through the new snow the perfect line emerges through the trees. It will always be waiting for you. |
It is late in the season, one last trip to the mountain before the spring rains wash away the winter. Blue sky, bright sun peering over the hills, new snow has fallen the night before. How nice that the cold night left you with a final taste of midwinter, while skiing through the spring powder. |

First Run |
You are skiing midweek, the morning after 2 feet of fresh snow fell. Traversing to find an untracked trail, it suddenly appears and falls away to your left. As you float along in this silent world, the only evidence you leave behind is the pure beauty of fresh tracks. |
