This design was inspired by a 2001 Austrian postage stamp designed by Otmar Grissemann, a children's book author. |
A foreign postage stamp. Insight into other cultures. A water drop on a leaf, hanging in a perfect balance of tension and gravity. Representing the frailty of nature's balance in this human time. |
The first frost came overnight. The fiery leaves of fall are tinged with an ethereal crystalline blanket. As the first rays of the morning sun sneak through the branches, the leaves glow and shimmer as if illuminated from within.. Earrings: 5/8" diameter Pendant: 1" Diameter |

The stem of the quaking aspen was the inspiration for this design. Just as the stem reaches the leaf it is flattened at 90 to the leaf surface, causing it to quake as the breeze passes by. |
